Former ELIXIR Members Launch MIDNIGHT MESSIAH
September 2, 2012Former ELIXIR vocalist Paul Taylor and guitarist Phil Denton have launched a new band called MIDNIGHT MESSIAH. The name of the group is taken from one of the songs the pair wrote for the final ELIXIR album.
"We wanted to retain a connection to ELIXIR and our past, as the new band will be similar in style to what we have done before," commented Denton.
MIDNIGHT MESSIAH is currently rehearsing new material before entering the studio to record its debut album, tentatively due in 2013. The band will then make its live debut promoting the new CD as well as including some ELIXIR favorites in the live set.
"We have a brilliant young lead guitarist, Dave Strange, and a solid, powerful drummer in Darren Lee, and the new guys have learned the new songs very quickly," adds Phil. "The two of them have really brought our songs to life and Paul and I are really pleased with how things are going."
MIDNIGHT MESSIAH is:
Paul Taylor – Vocals
Phil Denton - Guitar
Dave Strange - Guitar
Darren Lee - Drums
A bass player for the band has not yet been announced.
ELIXIR play two final farewell shows in October at The Bridge House 2, Canning Town, London on Saturday, October 13 and at De Verlichte Geest in Roeselare, Belgium on Saturday, October 20.
